In the latest instalment of the Bulldogs’ 2018 in review, we take a look at the Club’s leading goalkickers.

Billy Gowers completed a stunning 2018 season by becoming the Bulldogs’ leading goalkicker (scoring 26 majors) in his first year at the Club.

He made history - joining Jesse Hogan (2015), Jeremy Cameron (2012), Troy Wilson (2001), Scott Cummings (1994), John Hutton (1992) and Allen Jakovich (1991) who also led their Club’s goalkicking tally in their first season of senior football.

Gowers kicked bags of three goals twice and kicked two goals on five occasions, while also averaging 12.7 disposals and 4.2 marks.  He kicked at least one goal in all but one of his 20 games (the Round 9 slog-fest against Adelaide being the exception).

Bulldogs vice-captain Marcus Bontempelli finished runner up with 22 goals – his third-straight season of 20 or more six-pointers.

The classy on-baller kicked four goals on two occasions (in rounds 8 and 20) and managed three goals in the Bulldogs’ Round 3 win over Essendon.

Mitch Wallis kicked a career-best 20 goals in 2018, to finish third on the Bulldogs’ goal tally.  He kicked six majors in two weeks with bags of three goals against Hawthorn and Melbourne (Round 16 and Round 17).
