The Western Bulldogs today announced that prized recruit Tom Boyd will wear number 17 in season 2015.
The talented forward was traded from Greater Western Sydney during the 2014 trade period, and will take the number left vacant by Adam Cooney.
Number 17 holds further meaning for Boyd, who wore the number in his junior playing days.
Boyd played nine games and kicked eight goals in his debut season with the Giants.
Boyd was also the TAC Cup’s leading goal-kicker in 2012 as a bottom age player, and the youngest member of Vic Metro’s 2012 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships division one winning side.
The forward has signed a seven-year contract with the Bulldogs, which will take him through to the end of the 2021 season.
