Experienced forward Tory Dickson is a chance to return for the Western Bulldogs’ elimination final against the GWS Giants at Giants Stadium.
After missing Saturday’s match at Mars Stadium with hamstring tightness, Dickson’s availability will be determined over the coming 7-10 days.
Continuing the positive news, and both Lin Jong (hamstring) and Ryan Gardner (knee) are on the verge of returning to football this week.
The duo will need to complete the main session this week ahead of Footscray’s VFL qualifying final on Saturday.
Meanwhile, midfielder Mitch Wallis will not return to football in 2019.
Having suffering a stress fracture injury in his ankle prior to the mid-season bye, Wallis has showed great progress throughout his rehab but will not return in time for the AFL finals series.
“Although he’s coming along really well, the timeline associated with getting Mitch back up to full fitness and playing games again will not put him in a timeframe that will be suitable to make a comeback in this finals campaign,” Bulldogs’ medical services manager Chris Bell said.
“Mitch is remaining positive and has turned his sights on having a big pre-season.”
