Brian Lake headlines two inclusions for the Western Bulldogs as the prepare to tackle league newcomers Greater Western Sydney at Manuka Oval on Saturday.

Returning from suspension, Lake’s return will bolster the Bulldogs’ backline while Tom Liberatore returns after being rested against Melbourne.

Liberatore has been named on the interchange bench and will provide a tough inside option in the midfield rotations.

Daniel Giansiracusa will not make the trip to Canberra due to soreness, while Mark Austin makes way for Brian Lake but has been named as an emergency.

Luke Dahlhaus’ push into the midfield will continue against the Giants, named on the wing after impressing through the middle of the ground against Melbourne.

Assistant Coach Stephen King told BulldogsTV that Dahlhaus’ ability to break the lines is fast becoming a great asset to the side.

“With Lukey Dahlhaus named on the wing, he has obviously been building his endurance over Summer and is now at the stage where he can start contributing to our midfield,” King said.

“He gives us a lot of speed and run and carry.”

King is confident that the team can build on their momentum and secure their second win for the year against Greater Western Sydney

“It’s a pretty settled team, obviously with a couple of changes but one we are pretty confident can get the job done this week up in Canberra,” he said.
