Four of the Western Bulldogs forwards notched up 14 goals of the side’s 19 goals on Saturday afternoon against Port Adelaide.
The make-up of the Bulldogs forward line continues to develop over the course of the season but on Saturday night they were at their dynamic best.
Jake Stringer kicked four goals and four behinds, Tory Dickson and Stewart Crameri chipped in with three apiece, while Jack Redpath kicked four last-quarter goals.
Crameri spoke to BulldogsTV post-match and said the work of their teammates to keep possession had aided the spread of goal kickers on Saturday.
“That’s our whole team dynamic is work rate and pressure and keeping it in our forward line and trying to get goals off the back of that.
“So I think all the forwards and the midfielders really just put in a good effort and we did well in the second half and just to win by so much was a great credit to the guys as well.”
The performances of those four forwards alongside the Bulldogs smalls has created an unpredictable forward line set up, with the potential addition of tall forward Tom Boyd giving the side great depth offensively.
Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge spoke post-match on Redpath’s individual performance, and the efforts of his whole side to create scoring opportunities.
“This week to see Jack kick four in the last quarter after playing a fair bit of time in the ruck and just to find the energy to really stand up is great reward for him because he’s really persisted this year.
“But at different times it’s Jake, it’s ‘Stewy’, it’s ‘Dicko’, it’s him (Redpath), it’s the smaller forwards or our midfielders like ‘Wally’ and ‘Bonti’ and ‘Picko’ who occasionally kick their ones and twos and that continues to be important for us.”
