The Western Bulldogs welcome the return of stars Higgins, Hall, Wallis, Wood and Williams into the squad of 25 to take on big improvers West Coast Eagles at Patersons stadium this Sunday.

Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade said that his team needs to improve on last week’s performance to beat the inform Eagles on their home turf.

“They’re certainly very difficult to beat on their home ground… at the moment they’re in very good form.”

The Eagles have beaten the Bulldogs in two of their past three outings but Eade goes into this game with some confidence after a 35 point win of the in-form tigers last week.

The Bulldogs played an attacking brand of football and dictated terms against Richmond, a style that Eade may use against the notorious lock-down style of the Eagles.

“We played our way (against Richmond) but there’s still some areas to work on,” Eade said.

The Eagles have beaten each of their opponents this year in the contested football stat and their forward press is as good as any team in the competition this year according to Eade.

“West Coast’s forward press is the best in the competition at the moment,” Eade said.

The Bulldogs are eagerly waiting on how power forward Barry Hall recovers from an intense training session today before a decision will be made on him.

Eade however, has been encouraged by his training form this week.

“Barry Hall has trained all week… at this stage, we a very hopeful he will play,” Eade said.

Eagles stars Daniel Kerr and Andrew Embley have been named in this week’s squad but will undergo fitness tests before they are declared certain starters.
