Iron Moz is back, and his teammates love it.

Just 106 days after sustaining an ACL injury, incredibly, much-loved Bulldog Dale Morris will return for Footscray in the VFL on Saturday afternoon.

“He’s a super-hero,” vice-captain Marcus Bontempelli told RSN Breakfast Club this week.

“I think we’ve all got – probably league-wide – a great deal of admiration for Dale. The thing about Moz has always been his ability in adversity to continue to not make things about him.

“He’s the most selfless bloke I’ve met – and it’s painstakingly selfless almost.

“He genuinely loves what he does… The things he’s come back from are nothing short of amazing.

“From a morale point of view what Dale does for us is incredible. I think we’re all looking forward to having him back, but probably no one’s looking more forward to it than him to being back out there playing again.”

Morris has sustained a similar injury in two consecutive pre-seasons – albeit to different knees – before remarkably making a mid-season return.

“He leaves no stone unturned,” leader Jackson Trengove told SEN SA Breakfast this week.

“He’s just the ultimate professional with what he does, whether it be in the weights room or with vision, everything is just spot on.

“He’s a little bit of a freak.

“He’s got all those weird techniques that he uses and believes in, and he’s very strong in the mind which I think helps him recover from some of these injuries.

TRENGOVE SET FOR CHARLIE CHALLENGE

“Being such a young team over here, he’s someone that a lot of the boys look up to and respect highly.”

He’ll be a welcome addition to the Bulldogs’ back-line, according to star defender Caleb Daniel.

“You always walk that fair bit taller when he’s running out there with you,” Daniel told FiveAA this week.

“He’s just a great person to have around the football club and obviously a great player for years.

“I think he’s still got a bit of footy left in him, which is great.”
