1. Lllllllllllllllllllloyd
Sam Lloyd has settled nicely into life as a Bulldog.
And this week he gets the chance to take on his former side for the first time.
The ex-Tiger has had an immediate impact in red, white and blue, and leads the goalkicking tally with nine majors from six games.
He’ll no doubt be keen to have a big impact on Saturday night.
2. Can the Dogs capitalise?
It’s been the story of the Dogs’ season, so far.
Only once – in round two against Hawthorn – have they kicked more goals than behinds, but in four of six games they’ve had equal or more scoring shots than their opponents.
Now is the time for the boys in red, white and blue to turn that record around.
They’ve got multiple avenues to goal, and will need to find a way to score against a Richmond side that has conceded just 67 and 42 points over the past two weeks.
3. Injury-hit Tigers find a way
No Riewoldt, no Cotchin, no Rance, no Astbury.
The Tigers might be missing some big names, but they keep finding a way and have won their past three matches.
New recruit Tom Lynch (17 goals) poses a big forward threat, while the Tigers’ experienced brigade have stepped up and found some support from fresh blood in the likes of Sydney Stack, Jack Ross and Liam Baker.
4. Tight tussles
Very little has separated the Bulldogs and Tigers in recent times.
In their past five meetings, the Bulldogs have come away with the points on four occasions.
However, the Tigers won the most recent clash in the final round of last year.
Three of the past five games have been decided by less than a kick, with the other two margins 10 and 19 points – an average margin of 7.8 points.
