As flagged by senior coach Luke Beveridge on Thursday, the Western Bulldogs have named an unchanged team for Sunday’s clash with Hawthorn at the MCG.
Matthew Suckling has been named, after sustaining an ankle injury in round one.
Lewis Young, Jackson Trengove, Pat Lipinski and Fergus Greene have been named as emergencies.
Key defender Zaine Cordy will play his 50th AFL match, and recruit Taylor Duryea will line up against his old side for the first time.
Last week’s debutant, Bailey Smith, will have another opportunity to impress.
Assistant coach Ash Hansen said the Bulldogs were prepared for a big test against the Hawks.
Both teams enter the clash with a round one win under their belts.
“It was no surprise – certainly the way they defended, their back seven were really important for them with their intercept marking ability,” Hansen said of the Hawks’ win against Adelaide last week.
“And their young midfield, you wouldn’t know Tom Mitchell was missing with the way they went about it.
“They’re a very dangerous team, one that we respect a lot and we’ll have to continue to progress with our performances to make sure we match them on Sunday.”
