Star midfielder Marcus Bontempelli was best on ground – in the eyes of both coaches – in Saturday night’s win against the Sydney Swans.
The 23-year-old was one of seven players across the competition to poll the maximum 10 votes in round one.
Bontempelli collected 29 disposals for the game, and slotted a late goal to seal victory for the Bulldogs.
He was one of six Bulldogs to poll votes – with that group combining for 27 of a possible 30 votes.
Tom Liberatore (28 disposals) and Aaron Naughton (three goals) collected five votes each after playing influential roles in the win.
Jack Macrae (four votes), Mitch Wallis (two votes) and Caleb Daniel (one vote) were also recognised.
Defender Jake Lloyd was the lone Swan among the votes, polling three for his 35-disposal performance.
