Champion Data have crunched the numbers and according to the statistic service provider, the Western Bulldogs have one of the best midfield groups in the competition.
The AFL’s official number crunchers have ranked each club’s prime-movers based on their effectiveness, impact and position of possessions over the past two seasons, placing the Dogs third out of the 18 clubs.
In 2016 Sutton Medallist Marcus Bontempelli, Luke Dahlhaus and Mitch Wallis, the Dogs have three midfielder rated as elite by Champion Data, the most of any Club in the competition.
The Bulldogs open the 2017 premiership season against the top-ranked Magpies on Friday, March 24 under lights at the MCG.
