The Western Bulldogs women’s team has suffered a set-back in their preparations ahead of the Melbourne clash with number one draft pick Tiah Haynes, and retained Bulldogs player Nicola Stevens both succumbing to ACL injuries.

The pair’s stint on the sideline however does allow an opportunity for the Club’s drafted emergency Madi Keryk to enter the lineup and begin preparations for her first game representing a senior AFL side.

A coaching restructure has seen Jacob Simmons-Bliss appointed to the Bulldogs women’s side as an assistant coach, to support co-coaches Mich Sandry and Nikki Harwood.

Simmons-Bliss hails from Queensland and is the current coach of the Zillmere Eagles Women’s AFC.

The Bulldogs women’s team will take on Melbourne’s affiliate as a curtain raiser to the round 15 clash at Etihad Stadium.
