Area for Improvement

According to Assistant Coach Steven King one of the key areas for improvement will be on the Western Bulldogs defensive skills and work off the ball. Sydney’s ability to move the ball in the wet conditions outclassed the Dogs defensive efforts.

Stat That Mattered

The Bulldogs couldn’t get hands on the ball and were greatly beaten in the overall possession count. Sydney found 104 more disposals than the Bulldogs on the day. King also believed the inside 50s stat was less than desirable with the Dogs conceding 64 inside 50s to Sydney while only getting 49 inside 50s themselves.

Player of the Day

Assistant Coach Steven King has appointed tagger Liam Picken as the player of the day for his unshakeable efforts. Picken kept Lewis Jetta out of the game for the first half before focusing his attention on other players in the Sydney line-up after the main change.

“Picken tried his heart out all day, to kick a couple of goals for us and stick to his task that we gave him on the day… was a really good effort from him,” King said.
