Footscray will face Box Hill at Box Hill City Oval in a VFL semi final this Saturday morning after progressing to the second week of the 2023 Smithy’s VFL Finals Series.

It comes after the Bulldogs comfortably defeated reigning premiers Casey by 79 points in an elimination final over the weekend.

The do-or-die clash will start at 11.30am on Saturday, and be broadcast via the Seven Network and AFL.com.au.

The winner of this match will advance to a preliminary final against the Gold Coast Suns at Heritage Bank Stadium on Saturday 16 September.

At the conclusion of the home-and-away season, Footscray finished sixth on the ladder, while Box Hill finished third.

The Bulldogs will be looking to extend their winning streak to 12 games – last suffering defeat in round 10 against the Suns.
