Vice-captain Marcus Bontempelli has edged closer to the top of the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year leaderboard.
After round 19, Bontempelli sits five votes behind Geelong’s Tim Kelly.
The star midfielder received nine votes in the Bulldogs’ impressive win against Fremantle on Sunday afternoon at Marvel Stadium, taking his season tally to 79.
Fellow midfield gun Jack Macrae also received nine votes, taking his tally to 50 and jumping into the top 20.
Four more Bulldogs featured in the voting.

Forward Aaron Naughton, plus defenders Caleb Daniel and Jason Johannisen, scored three votes each.
Four goals to Bailey Dale earned him a vote, while Fremantle’s Andrew Brayshaw collected two.
The Bulldogs are the only team with three players in the top 20, with Josh Dunkley (51 votes) in equal 13th despite not earning a vote on the weekend.
