The Footscray Bulldogs have recorded their eighth consecutive win, defeating North Melbourne by 66 points on Saturday afternoon.

The Roos came out flaming against the Dogs, but the hosts proved bountiful in the 18.13 (121) to 8.7 (55) affair.

An early smothering performance from North Melbourne saw a tough contest unfold as the visitors established promising dominance.

With plenty of movement from each end of the field, only one goal apiece from Mitch Hannan and Charlie Clarke accounted for the ‘Scray in the first quarter.

Into the second, the ‘Scray revolutionised their form and polished a barnstorming performance.

A five-goal display from Caleb Lewis, Jordon Sweet, Oskar Baker, Buku Khamis and Charlie MacIsaac put them in the lead by 10 points before the main change.

Fresh off the blocks in the third, the Dogs’ momentum was completely unmatched.

North Melbourne did not capitalise on the board, as majors from Khamis, Cody Raak, MacIsaac, Robbie McComb and Lewis advanced the home side’s lead to 56 points.

The Roos picked up momentum which reflected on the board, but ultimately it was too late to catch up to the sterling 10 goal lead of the red, white and blue.

The senior-listed talent did not disappoint, as McLean racked up 30 disposals, six clearances, three tackles and one goal.

Baker recorded 21 touches and one goal to essentially have kick started the Dogs’ rampant form.

Sweet totalled 43 hit outs and one goal, while McComb and Khamis collected five tackles and two goals respectively.

A usual outstanding performance from ‘Scray captain Sullivan saw a game high of 37 touches, eight clearances, four tackles and one goal.

Ewan Macpherson was next in line with 24 touches and five clearances.

Lewis and MacIsaac also impressed with three goals apiece.

Footscray will look to make it nine consecutive wins when they face Box Hill Hawks on Saturday at Box Hill City Oval from 2:05pm.
