Dominique Carbone and Jorja Borg have shared the VFLW Bulldogs’ Best and Fairest honours, following standout 2023 campaigns that could not be split.
The duo were the most consistent performers in their debut seasons in the red, white and blue, tallying 123 votes each.
Carbone was instrumental this season, averaging 19.2 disposals and 5.9 tackles while contributing seven goals in matches – missing just the one occasion when she was called up for U23 Allies representation.
Borg also crossed to the Bulldogs this season, becoming a dominant ruck presence to average 30.4 hit-outs, 10 disposals and three tackles from her 14 matches.
The 24-year-old trailed at both the halfway mark and with one game remaining, before polling a round-high 18 votes in the final game to level with Carbone.
Sarah Skinner finished runner-up with 103 votes, while Caitlin Pickett claimed third place with 74 votes.
Amanda Ling received the Trainers Award, Jaimi Tabb took home the Players Award, Ashleigh Snow was handed the Coaches Award, and Emmalyn Nekrep was voted the Best Young Player.
The VFLW Bulldogs enjoyed a much-improved 2023 campaign under new coach Rhys Cahir, finishing 11th on the ladder with three wins.
