The Footscray Bulldogs have comfortably accounted for the Northern Bullants with a 24-goal performance on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs held the Bullants scoreless until the end of the second quarter in the 0.4 (4) to 24.17 (161) victory, marking Footscray’s seventh consecutive win.
The Dogs displayed sheer dominance, totalling 110 possessions to 58 in the opening term.
Despite holding the Bullants scoreless, the ‘Scray struggled early to effectively reflect their efforts on the board.
Mitch Hannan was quick to kick the first two majors of the match, while Cody Raak was next to add his piece.
The second term saw the Dogs string together 10 unanswered goals, with Toby McLean, Lachie Sullivan, Hannan and Jordon Sweet starting the flurry.
Caleb Lewis recorded his first major at VFL level by lining it up perfectly to slot it through.
Two goals from Riley Garcia and three goals from Rory Lobb flourished the Dogs healthy 88-point lead ahead of the main change.
The third quarter saw 15 minutes of back-and-forth possession until additional goals from Lewis, Lobb and Sullivan extended the now triple-digit margin.
Into the final term, a footrace to the goal square saw Charlie Clarke ping it through to become the ‘Scray’s tenth individual goal scorer for the match.
A clean sheet from the opposition saw Footscray wrap up the win by 157 points.
Lobb was the match's leading goal scorer with five goals, 21 touches, ten marks, eight hit outs and five clearances.
McLean had a stellar performance with 33 disposals, seven tackles and seven clearances.
