The Footscray Bulldogs have sweetened their finals hopes, recording their sixth consecutive win with a 62-point victory over the Sydney Swans on Friday afternoon.

The Dogs travelled across the border and ran rampant in opposition territory, with perfect conditions supplementing the 8.8 (56) to 17.16 (118) triumph.

Off the mark, intense pressure by both sides poised a promising contest early on.

A two-point deadlock for half the opening term was broken by Harvey Gallagher, by courtesy of Cooper Craig-Peters who secured the mark but was immediately sent off due to the blood rule.

The Bulldogs began to find motion in their momentum with Oskar Baker kicking two goals and Gallagher slotting his second.

Inducted next onto the multiple goal-scorers list was Buku Khamis, bolstering three goals in the second term.

The Dogs continued to effectively convert their chances across the field in the third quarter, with senior-listed talent like Baker snapping his third major for the match.

Khamis continued his driving performance by kicking his fourth, while Arthur Jones, Lachie Sullivan and Daniel Orgill all contributed to Footscray’s 48-point lead at three quarter time.

The final term saw the ‘Scray's persistent efforts reflect on the board with majors from Toby McLean, Rory Lobb, Jordon Sweet and Jones sealing the cracking win.

With finals etching closer, Footscray jumps into ninth spot on the VFL ladder and into wildcard contention.

Delivering the senior-listed talent was Khamis leading the score sheet with four goals from 11 touches, seven marks and two tackles.

Gallagher was prolific in his efforts totalling 29 disposals, two clearances and two goals.
