Western Bulldogs midfielder Adam Treloar says it was pleasing to see the forward-line so potent on Friday night against Collingwood.

Forwards trio Aaron Naughton, Cody Weightman and Jamarra Ugle-Hagan combined for 10 goals against the Pies, resulting in one of their most effective outputs of the season.

“That’s probably one of the things that worked really well. When we were able to win the ball back, (our forwards) were in great spots,” Treloar said post-match.

“That cohesion is clearly what they’ve been working on throughout the year. Gradually I feel it’s definitely gotten better, and tonight was probably one of the better performances from pretty much everyone that played forward.

“It’s promising – it’s just if we can get our hands on the ball a little bit more and get it to them 1v1 a lot quicker. That would go a long way to us scoring more and winning games.”

The Bulldogs will travel to NSW this week, ahead of a Thursday night clash against Sydney at the SCG.

Treloar said the advantage of a shorter turnaround means the team can’t dwell on the loss for too long.

“The beauty of a six-day break is that we’ve got to move on pretty quick,” he said.

“We’ll lick our wounds and recover over 24 hours, and then look at areas where we need to improve. Sydney didn’t win either so they’ll want to come and play (well) in front of their home crowd.

“Historically they’ve beaten us up quite a bit, but we really need to hit this contest head-on and give ourselves the best opportunity to win.

“We love travelling and getting away – it’ll be one to look forward to. We’ve got to win, so hopefully we come away with it.”
