The Footscray Bulldogs recorded their fifth consecutive win with a 20-point triumph against Collingwood on Friday night.

The Dogs dominated the opening half of the game, and overcame level scores in the third quarter to register a nailbiting 14.13 (97) to 11.11 (77) victory.

The Bulldogs wrestled control early with majors from Joel Garner and Harvey Gallagher responding to the Pies.

By courtesy of Jordon Sweet and Lachie Sullivan, the home side entered the first interchange with a two-goal buffer.

The second term saw the ‘Scray continue their six-goal-streak by courtesy of Arthur Jones, Robbie McComb, Buku Khamis and Sam Darcy; who kicked his first of many for the match.

Despite the Dogs entering the third quarter with a 24-point lead, the Pies began their comeback.

Connor Smith slotted one major to be the Dogs only goal scorer for the term, as both teams arrived at the third interchange with scores level.

Kicking the first of the last was Khamis, who put Footscray in front to start the spectacles of the final quarter.

Upon the Pies prompt response, Sullivan snapped a spectacular snag to give his team a one-point lead.

Although the pressure remained rampant across the field, a hanger from Josh Chatfield with quick thinking to Darcy was the beginning of the end for this fiery contest.

Darcy was instrumental in the forward line, winning each contest to kick the last three majors of the match and seal the 20-point victory for the ‘Scray.

The senior-listed talent was prominent across the field with Riley Garcia recording 26 touches and seven clearances, Luke Cleary totalling 25 disposals, and McComb recording 23 disposals and five clearances.

Darcy did not waiver as his match total saw 21 touches, 11 marks, 15 hit outs, four clearances and four goals.

Sweet excelled in his ruck duties once again, recording 43 hit outs and 13 touches.

Captain Sullivan led the disposal count for his side recording 31, to go with eight tackles and six clearances.

Footscray look to continue their streak as they hop across the border to take on the Sydney Swans next Friday 12:05pm at Tramway Oval, NSW.
