Western Bulldogs Senior Coach Brendan McCartney has named a near full strength squad to take on Geelong at Simonds Stadium in Saturday’s NAB Challenge Match.

While a youthful line-up squared-off against North Melbourne last week, McCartney as promised, has made eight changes to the team that will face the reigning Premiers.

Geelong is expected to name an experienced line-up for Saturday’s match, and the Bulldogs coaching staff will look to use the game to test their structures and game plan against the competitions best.

All Australians Matthew Boyd and Robert Murphy are amongst the eight senior players to return to the Bulldogs side, with Adam Cooney, Daniel Cross, Ryan Hargrave, Liam Jones, Will Minson and Liam Picken also returning for a hit-out before the Round 1 clash against the Eagles on April 1.

The presence of Clay Smith and Tory Dickson in the squad indicates they’re on the coaches’ radar to make an early season debut in the hoops.
