The Western Bulldogs Family Day was not the first stop for the Prime Minister Julia Gillard that Sunday in February, having first paid a visit to the Mambourin Disability Services in Werribee to meet the clients.

The PM visited the Mambourin’s sensory gardens - an employment, education and training facility situated in the Western Region for adults with a disability - to meet the people who benefit from their range of services.

The Bulldogs have a close relationship with Mambourin with a number of the clients volunteering at official Club events as part of their Certificate I in Work Education.
Mambourin clients who were volunteering at the Bulldogs Family Day were also given the opportunity to greet the Prime Minister as she arrived at Whitten Oval.

In partnership with Victoria University, the Bulldogs offer training in Certificate I Work Education to Mambourin clients with its emphasis on work readiness and community involvement at all levels.

Volunteers at Family Day were given a range of duties including information distribution, crowd directions and greeting fans at all points of entry onto Whitten Oval.

The Western Bulldogs would like to thank all of the volunteers for their involvement and hard work throughout the day.
