For a third straight year, the Western Bulldogs and Lifeline Australia will join forces to shine a light on mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention.

As part of the partnership, the Bulldogs will once again throw their support behind The Push-Up Challenge, which runs from June 1 until June 23.

The challenge invites participants to each complete 3,144 push-ups over that period – a figure that represents the number of lives that were tragically lost to suicide in 2022.

Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.

“The Western Bulldogs are proud to continue our support of Lifeline, who do an incredible job helping those who need it the most,” said Bulldogs’ CEO Ameet Bains.

“The impact of poor mental health and wellbeing remains a serious issue to address in society, and we can play an important role in raising awareness, and funds, which help organisations like Lifeline make a real and profound impact through the services they offer.

“We encourage our members and fans to participate in the Push-Up Challenge or make a donation if they’re able, so Lifeline can continue their crucial work.”

”Lifeline is delighted to partner with the Western Bulldogs, and we are incredibly appreciative of the many ways in which the club support us in ensuring that we are there for everyone across Australia, 24/7 in whichever way people are comfortable reaching out to us.”

“Taking on The Push-Up Challenge is a fantastic way of showing that support in a tangible way, raising funds and awareness in a really positive manner. We wish everyone taking part the best for their gruelling efforts over the next few weeks!,” said Lifeline Australia CEO Colin Seery.

Lifeline exists to ensure that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.  It offers a service via phone (13 11 14), text (0477 13 11 14) and online chat (lifeline.org.au/gethelp).
