It was a strong return to the action for Hayden, after being sidelined with an ankle complain the week before. He registered a game-high 13 marks, to go with 26 disposals. His AFL experience is invaluable, particularly for some of the younger and less experienced Dogs defenders.

Rhylee West
18 disposals, four marks, five tackles, six clearances, one goal

Rhylee impacted the game effectively on Saturday, laying an equal game-high five tackles to go with six clearances and 18 disposals. He also hit the scoreboard for the consecutive week too.

Toby McLean
25 disposals, four marks, four inside 50s, five clearances

Toby returned to the action after a fortnight in the AFL side – but did not look like he had missed any footy at all. He added an extra layer of class to the Dogs’ midfield mix, and impacted around the ground.

James O’Donnell

Like Jedd, James continues to build up his match minutes after signing as a rookie last month. He is strong in the air but has the capability and versatility to play anywhere – despite being used predominately in defence for the start of his Bulldogs career.

Laitham Vandermeer

Laith remarkably returned to the field after two weeks sidelined with a rib injury – which he sustained in his VFL return after a fractured leg. Despite the quieter output disposal-wise, it was great to see him back out there after an injury-interrupted start to his year.

Buku Khamis

Buku was prolific on Saturday, arguably putting together his best outing for Footscray this year. Four goals from 12 disposals showcased his accuracy and precision, playing an important role up forward in the absence of Sam Darcy.

Robbie McComb
20 disposals, five marks, five inside 50s, three clearances, one goal

Robbie had a solid impact in the Dogs’ midfield on Saturday, claiming 20 disposals, five inside 50s and a goal. His second outing for the ‘Scray this year.

Mitch Hannan
19 disposals, three marks, three tackles, two goals

Like Hayden in defence, Mitch added an extra layer of polish to the Dogs’ forward-line on Saturday. He opened the red, white and blue’s scoring account with a classy snap in the first minute, and kept busy throughout the day.

Cody Raak

Cody continues to build some consistency in his game, adding another 17 disposals and four marks to his 2023 tally. Has been tried both up forward and down back this season, but looks to be settling in defence now.

Jordon returned to the side after a bruised heel ruled him out of last week’s action. He picked up where he left off, winning 22 hit-outs and 13 disposals as he continues to build on his impact as a ruck.
