Marcus Bontempelli has achieved yet another accolade, after being selected to captain the 22under22 Team of the Decade.
Bontempelli had previously been voted into five 22under22 teams – every year he was deemed eligible – and chosen as skipper in three of those sides.
He was the fifth most popular player on this occasion, selected in 65% of fan-voted teams, and is the only Bulldog representative.
The 27-year-old’s career stats speak for themselves – averaging 23 disposals, five tackles and five clearances from 193 games - while his playing honours include a premiership medallion, four All Australian blazers and four Charles Sutton medals.
The 22under22 Team of the Decade was launched by the AFL Players’ Association to celebrate 10 years of the honorary initiative which seeks to recognise the best young talent in the AFL and AFLW.
