Clay Smith’s long awaited return to senior football is just days away, named as one of five changes to the Western Bulldogs side set to take on Gold Coast on Sunday.
Smith has been named in the senior side for the first time since July 2013, after impressing in the VFL - including a best on ground 33 disposals and 14 tackles against Bendigo in round four.
Fullback Jordan Roughead will also return to the side after missing five games with a shoulder injury and will be a welcome addition to the Bulldogs defence.
The recall of Goodes will further bolster the back six and give the Bulldogs more grunt in the defensive half of the ground.
First round draftee Bontempelli has also been named after an impressive four goal display against Sandringham in the VFL and will provide some flexibility to the side.
Stevens also stood out in the VFL clash, kicking three majors and accumulating 27 touches on the day, earning him a swift recall.
Tom Williams (calf), Liam Jones (suspension), Jason Johannisen (omitted), Lachie Hunter (omitted) and Tory Dickson (pectoral) have not been named.
OPEN TRAINING: The Bulldogs will hold an open training session at Metricon Stadium from 3:30pm on Saturday 24 May 2014. The training session will be open to all members and fans.
