Western Bulldogs defender Dale Morris has accepted a one-match sanction from the Match Review Panel, for tripping GWS Giants midfielder Will Hoskin-Elliott in Saturday’s match.
The AFL announced on Monday afternoon that the MRP had charged Morris with a level-three tripping offence (225 demerit points, two-match suspension) for the first quarter incident in the Bulldogs’ 27-point victory.
But Morris had a six-year good record at the Tribunal which subsequently reduced the sanction to a one-match ban by entering a guilty plea.
Both players were hurt in the clash and were substituted from the game early in the second quarter.
Scans on Sunday confirmed Dale Morris sustained an ankle sprain in the incident, with the defender to be monitored this week.
