Western Bulldogs midfield bull Kirsty Lamb has polled another 10 coaches’ votes in the 2022 AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year award for round three.
It is the second consecutive week that Lamb has been judged best afield by the coaches, collecting 23 disposals, six marks and five tackles in the narrow win over Fremantle.
It takes her tally to 20 votes overall, and just six behind joint leaders Jasmine Garner (North Melbourne) and Maddy Prespakis (Essendon).
Gabby Newton was next best with seven votes for a 17-possession and six-mark performance, which also included the match-winning goal to put her side in front.
Skipper Ellie Blackburn claimed three votes for her efforts, which also brings her three-round total to 20 votes.
Alice Edmonds (two votes) and Jess Fitzgerald (one vote) rounded out the Bulldogs’ vote-getters.
The AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year is an award voted by the AFLW senior coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home-and-away game, acknowledging outstanding effort to an individual player in a season.
