Western Bulldogs captain Ellie Blackburn has been named the 10th best AFLW player, according to AFL Media journalist and women’s football expert Sarah Black.
It is the fourth consecutive season the 27-year-old has featured in the top 10 rankings, claiming fourth spot in season six, and 10th in both 2021 and 2022.

“The Western Bulldogs skipper shook off a COVID-affected start to the year to finish strongly, finishing equal first in the Dogs' best and fairest,” Black said.
“Finishing equal seventh in the overall AFLW count, Blackburn's clearance work and ability to hit the scoreboard at crucial moments means she's one of the premier mids in the competition.
“She averaged 20.1 disposals, 362m gained, 3.1 clearances and kicked 6.8 in 2022.”
Blackburn is a three-time AFLW All Australian, triple Club Champion and premiership captain.
She has played 47 games in the red, white and blue since arriving at the Club as a marquee player ahead of the inaugural 2017 season.
