There were some special guests at schools across the western region as the Bulldogs Friendly Schools program began last Thursday.

The entire LeasePlan Western Bulldogs playing list visited 25 primary schools and were joined by Victoria University pre-service teachers to help deliver key messages of the program.

Brad Johnson swapped his on-field leadership role to become a class room mentor at Sunshine North Primary School with Jarrod Harbrow helping to complete class room activities.

Players assisted students in working through the Bulldogs student scrap book, discussing leadership, healthy living, fair play and how to work as a team.

Students were also encouraged to join the K9 Club, a free club that provides children with exclusive offers, competitions, Bulldogs goodies and access to a supporter’s game.

In its second year, the Bulldogs Friendly Schools initiative reaches over 40,000 students in 38 primary schools and 23 secondary schools in Maribyrnong, Brimbank, Hobson’s Bay, Wyndham and Melton, areas known as the Bulldogs’ backyard.
