Senior coach Luke Beveridge says he is feeling the fittest and healthiest he’s ever been when it comes to leading the Western Bulldogs.

Addressing media at Wednesday morning’s Captain’s Run, the 2016 premiership coach said reports he was unfit to coach were “far from the truth”.

“I’m energised and really looking forward to Thursday night - I swam in the bay yesterday, I rode on the Ergo (bike) this morning, and spent a lot of time on Carlton and strategy yesterday to best prepare us,” Beveridge said.

“I’ve never been fitter and I’ve never felt healthier. Personally I’m fine.

“Our coaches do an amazing job, as do all our people. We’re going well internally.”

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back from their opening round loss when they host Carlton at Marvel Stadium from 7.20pm tomorrow night.

Beveridge said despite last Wednesday’s result, he is confident his side can turn things around in their first home game of the season.

"We did a lot of things pretty well against the Demons – we won some areas that they totally pantsed us in last time,” he said.

“That gives us some encouragement going into the game against Carlton.

“There’ll probably be a couple of changes based on form and what we need to have the right recipe and formula to beat them.

“We’ll put a really strong team out there – I couldn’t feel more passionate about what I do.”

The Bulldogs will confirm their round two team at 6.20pm tonight.
