Western Bulldogs AFLW Development Coach Kirby Bentley and Western Bulldogs Board Member Belinda Duarte are set to feature at the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation International Women’s Day Morning Tea.
Bentley will feature as a panelist, while Duarte will MC the free event which will take place on Thursday March 10 at Footscray Community Arts from 10.30am to 12pm.
Joining Bentley on the panel is Associate Professor Jeannie Rea from Victoria University and Councillor Bernadette Thomas from Stony Creek Ward and the Greens Party.
Run in conjunction with Victoria University and the City of Maribyrnong, the morning tea will centre around the theme of ‘Women shaping today for an equal tomorrow’.

Belinda Duarte
Belinda Duarte was born in Ballarat and is a Wotjobaluk, Dja Dja Wurrung descendant with Polish and Celtic heritage. She is CEO of Culture is Life, an organisation which works on Aboriginal-led solutions for the prevention of Indigenous youth suicide, as well as a director of the Western Bulldogs and Co-Chair of Reconciliation Victoria.
Kirby Bentley
A proud Noongar woman, Kirby Bentley played 10 AFLW games across three seasons for both Carlton and Fremantle, while also representing Melbourne in the earlier 2013-2016 AFL Women’s exhibition games. She joined the Bulldogs as AFLW Development Coach and VFLW Head Coach in 2021.
Jeannie Rea
Jeannie is an Associate Professor at Victoria University and researcher at the Institute for Sustainable Industries and Livable Cities. She chairs postgraduate programs in International Community Development and Planetary Health, as well as teaching Gender Studies, and has worked in professional education for over three decades.
Bernadette Thomas
Cr. Bernadette Thomas is a member of the Greens party and a councillor for Maribyrnong City Council in the Stony Creek Ward. She is a long-term resident of Maribyrnong, and is in her first term on Council.
