It was no ordinary victory against the Kangaroos on the weekend.

After being 28 points down at half time, the Dogs charged home and on the back of another big third quarter, got one back after North Melbourne pinched it in the dying seconds back in round 14.

It was the perfect way to celebrate Dale Morris’ 250th game for the Club.

But it didn’t stop there.  For the first time in VFL/AFL history, three players on the one team had 40+ disposals in the same game, and now Lachie Hunter (44), Jack Macrae (40) and Caleb Daniel are the sole members of an exclusive club.

Speaking on this week’s Freedom in a Cage podcast, Daniel said he had no idea he was closing in on the magical 40-mark when he picked up his final possession late in the game.

“I wouldn't have had a clue,” he said.  “I didn't think I had that many.”

“I think I kicked it out of bounds though, he laughed.

“And Lachie gave me that handball which was nice, he looked after me.”

It was the Dogs second win a in a row, and return to Etihad Stadium on Sunday to take on the Blues.

Asked by co-hosts Bob Murphy and Adi Brown how the 3,2,1  on Brownlow night might look, Daniel was typically team-focused.

“I'd give Bont the three because he went alright, probably 'Hunts' (two votes), I think he used the footy pretty well and then Jacko, just because he's consistent.”
