Adam Treloar may have managed himself into his eleventh season of AFL football but the midfielder looks primed and ready to make an impact in season 2022.
The midfielder fuelled the highlight of the day for the visitors, kicking a miraculous goal from a tight angle deep in the pocket, showing his willingness to get forward and hit the scoresheet.
The 28-year-old was one of the Bulldogs best in Wednesday’s practice match and is projecting nicely looking forward to another campaign.
“Physically I feel great,” Treloar said. “I seem to say it all the time but I feel really good.”
“I am coming up to my 11th season now but I feel with my experience I can drive the standards and how we want to play.”
“For me individually, I want to be able to take the game on and use my legs and connect well going inside 50.
“That’s what I pride myself on – it will help me as a footballer but also help my teammates.”
“I want to bring people into the game.”
It was difficult conditions for both sides at the NEC Hangar but much to take out of a strong contest between rivals.
“It was good – pretty hot out there,” he said.
“It was nice to get a hit-out under our belts – it’s always really good when we come up against good opposition.”
“There is a lot of room for improvement there always is early days because we are building into the season and trying to build cohesion again.”
“To come up against a rival team and see how we are tracking is really pleasing. We want to keep bettering ourselves and set up for next week and then the season proper going forward. “
Treloar and the Bulldogs get another chance to ramp up preparations for Round 1 with an AAMI Community Series fixture against Brisbane at Marvel Stadium Friday week.
