Western Bulldogs duo Kirsty Lamb and Ellie Blackburn have leapt into the top 10 of the 2022 AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year leaderboard.

With three games remaining, Lamb currently sits just four votes behind a trio of leaders – Lion Emily Bates, Docker Hayley Miller and Kangaroo Ash Riddell - on 45 votes.

Since round six, Lamb has earned 18 votes, including a perfect 10 in the Geelong win, after recording 26 touches and seven tackles.

Included this week were also the votes from the round four mid-week match against Fremantle, where she received seven votes from coaches Nathan Burke and Trent Cooper.

Blackburn currently sits eighth overall on 34 votes, fresh off receiving four votes for her efforts on Tuesday night against the Suns.

The AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year is an award voted by the AFLW senior coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort to an individual player in a season.
