The run home looms as an exciting challenge for the Bulldogs and Luke Dahlhaus believes his side is capable of stretching a number of opponents over the next month.
With St Kilda, North Melbourne, Sydney and GWS Giants as the Club’s final opponents for 2014, the Bulldogs have acknowledged the opportunity that presents them starting with this weekend.
“We’ve all sat down and said there’s four games to go and we really want to finish on a good note,” Dahlhaus said.
“We have massive opportunities against the teams we are playing, this week against St Kilda I think we can play some really good footy.”
Dahlhaus has not been able to run around anonymously for a couple of seasons now but the 21-year-old said he is better equipped to handle the attention this season and is adjusting to the role.
“It’s a fair bit of a challenge, definitely this year I’ve had a lot more attention,” he said.
“I guess the more games you play the more teams know about you.
“I’ve tried to improve my fitness through pre-season and this next pre-season I will need to go up another level.”
Looking to his more senior teammates through the midfield for tips and tactics, the 21-year-old said they have helped him learn to negate tough opponents.
“It’s tough when you have a bloke tailing you all game but it just means you have to work harder and want it more and I’ve been really trying to do that this year,” he said.
“You speak to blokes like Coons and Griff and Libba, three blokes who get tagged week in week out.
