Not sure what to watch for Halloween this year? Here are five thrillers we recommend...

Brisbane vs Western Bulldogs, Semi-final, 2021

07:58

We’re sorry for the increased heart rates and stress we caused during the dying minutes of this match.
But now knowing the outcome, we hope it’s a much more pleasant viewing this time around.
From Bailey Smith’s clutch left-foot running goal, to Taylor Duryea’s 1v1 with Charlie Cameron deep inside defensive 50, this match will go down as one of the Bulldogs’ greatest ever wins.

Western Bulldogs vs Carlton, AFLW Round 2, 2021

05:12

The annual AFLW Pride Game is always special – particularly when you’ve just notched up your first win at home in over 700 days.
That was the case for the AFLW Bulldogs earlier this year, recording a come-from-behind victory over Carlton at VU Whitten Oval.
Down by 10 points at the start of the last, two goals from captain Ellie Blackburn swung momentum in the Dogs’ favour, holding onto a six-point triumph despite the Blue’s late efforts.

Western Bulldogs vs West Coast, Round 16, 2020

07:46

The Bulldogs and Eagles have played in some thrilling finishes over the last few years.
But rather than revisiting the round two clash from earlier this year (which we also recommend), we’re going back to 2020 at Metricon Stadium.
In a low-scoring affair and just four points separating the two sides with under five minutes to play, enter some Marcus Bontempelli magic and some desperate defending.

Western Bulldogs vs Brisbane, AFLW Grand Final, 2018

05:57

One minute to play, six points the difference, and a Premiership Cup on the line.
The Bulldogs – so close to a maiden flag – knew they had to do whatever was necessary to hold on to their lead.
With just 10 seconds remaining and one last push from the Lions, it was Naomi Ferres’ match-saving mark inside defensive 50 that helped the Dogs go from pioneers to Premiers.

GWS vs Western Bulldogs, Preliminary final, 2016

04:21

Another match separated by just a handful of points, with plenty on the line.
Away from home, against a side that finished fourth on the ladder, it was the seventh-placed Bulldogs who pulled off a miraculous and gutsy win to book a spot in the 2016 Grand Final.
It’d be rude not to revisit this game – so grab some popcorn and enjoy.
