Liberatore was drafted via father-son selection in the 2010 AFL Draft and has since established himself as a key figure in the Bulldogs’ on-ball brigade. Claimed the 2014 Charles Sutton Medal in a breakout year. After a knee injury cruelled his 2015 season, Liberatore bounced back in 2016 to be an instrumental part of the Club's finals run. Despite a late-season ankle injury, Liberatore bounced back to play all four finals, and was a key member of the Club's AFL Premiership side. Reached the elusive 200-game milestone in 2023, becoming just the 12th father-son draftee to play 200 games for the same club their Dad played for.
