Star midfielder Marcus Bontempelli has claimed top spot in the 2021 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year leaderboard.
The Bulldogs’ captain received the maximum 10 votes for his efforts in Sunday’s 55-point win over West Coast, which included 29 touches, seven tackles, 10 clearances and three goals.
It is the fifth time this season he has polled a perfect 10, now leading Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver by five votes overall.
Young gun Bailey Smith earned eight votes for a 31-disposal, six-clearance and two-goal performance, followed by Aaron Naughton, who received six votes for his four-goal haul.
Jack Macrae (four votes), Caleb Daniel (one vote) and Bailey Dale (one vote) rounded out the Bulldogs’ clean sweep.
