The Footscray Bulldogs have won their fifth consecutive match for the season, defeating Frankston by 81 points at Skybus Stadium under Friday night lights.
After a tight start, the Bulldogs broke the game open to run out 19.14 (128) to 5.17 (47) winners, cracking 100 points for the third time this season.
It was an intense, scoreless opening nine minutes, with the Dolphins bringing a high pressure game.
However Josh Schache broke the ice, kicking two of his three goals in a matter of 90 seconds, setting the tone for the rest of the night.
After missing a game through injury, Will Hayes (28 disposals) returned to be the Bulldogs’ leading ball winner, while Riley Garcia (27 disposals) also found plenty of the ball to help drive the Bulldogs forward.
Robbie McComb (24 disposals, six tackles, two goals) and Louis Butler (26 disposals, one goal) were both influential around the ground and on the scoreboard, as was Rhylee West who added another impressive performance, collecting 26 disposals and kicking three goals.
While Schache was the dominant forward in the first half, it was all about Dominic Bedendo in the second, taking a spectacular mark and adding three majors of his own.
Ben Cavarra and Corey Preston laid eight tackles a piece, Jesse Glass-McCasker dominated the hit-out count in the ruck and young tall Bailey Van De Heuvel was also impactful, taking some strong contested marks.
Footscray will face Casey in a top of the table clash next Sunday at VU Whitten Oval.
