Western Bulldogs skipper Marcus Bontempelli was best afield in the eyes of both coaches, in his side’s memorable win against Carlton on Sunday.

Bontempelli received a perfect 10 votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.

The second-year skipper was at his brilliant best, particularly in the second half as the Bulldogs overturned a 27-point deficit to run out 16-point victors.

Bontempelli finished the game with 32 disposals, 10 clearances, eight tackles and a goal.

The 10-vote haul takes his season tally to 32 votes and equal-seventh spot on the leaderboard, 10 votes behind overall leader Hugh McCluggage (42) from the Brisbane Lions.

Bontempelli was one of three Bulldogs among the votes.

Five-goal forward Josh Bruce collected six votes, as did influential midfielder Tom Liberatore for his 27-disposal, 13-clearance performance.
