Monique Conti has completed a remarkable debut season by winning the Best Young Player award at the Western Bulldogs AFLW Best and Fairest.
In her first year, Conti has proven to be a key pillar in the Dogs premiership success, nabbing the best on ground medal in this year’s Grand Final, while placing second in the 2018 NAB Rising Star.
Conti’s light frame and impressive agility saw her become a dominant force in the midfield this season, landing her in the best players list on a regular basis.
Averaging 14 touches per game, Conti finished third for disposals at the Dogs, behind 2017 best and fairest players Emma Kearney and Ellie Blackburn.
Her outstanding Round 4 performance against Carlton saw Conti receive a NAB Rising Star nomination, alongside elevated rookie Aisling Utri.
With so much young talent, the Bulldogs broke the competition record with five NAB Rising Star nominations this year - previously held by Melbourne (four nominations in 2017).
Conti was recognised alongside Bulldogs Libby Birch, Bonnie Toogood, Aisling Utri and Naomi Ferres as this year’s nominees.
