Star midfielder Josh Dunkley was best afield in the eyes of both coaches in the Western Bulldogs’ 62-point win against the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday at Marvel Stadium.
Dunkley had a game-high 38 disposals to poll a perfect 10 votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award voting.
The 24-year-old also contributed two goals, seven clearances and eight tackles in a dominant day at the office.
In his 150th AFL match, Marcus Bontempelli also stood out.
The Bulldogs’ captain collected eight votes for his 33-disposal, three-goal outing.
Three more Bulldogs were among the votes.
Key defender Alex Keath starred with 20 disposals and nine marks to collect five votes. Midfield duo Jack Macrae (35 disposals) and Adam Treloar (26 disposals, two goals) were also prolific, earning three votes apiece.
Macrae has slipped back to fourth spot on the overall leaderboard with 25 votes, but remains just seven behind leader Max Gawn (32) from Melbourne.
Bontempelli and Dunkley are among a group of five players in equal ninth spot, with 18 votes.
