A goal after the siren from Hannah Scott has seen the Western Bulldogs defeat the Darebin Falcons by four points in a nail-biting finish at Bill Lawry Oval on Saturday afternoon.

After a trailing by 13-points at the final change , the Dogs fought hard to claim a narrow. Come-from-behind victory over the home side.

Scott was particularly influential, kicking two of the visitor’s six goals, while Alyssa Mifsud and Rachel Ashley complimented Scott’s efforts in front of goal by with their work rate throughout the game.

Ruck Nicole McMahon provided yet another strong performance, laying first hand around the stoppages while taking some crucial defensive marks.

Bulldogs debutant Mary Sandral had a dream start to her first VFLW match today, kick starting the side’s final term charge with its opening goal.

While the Falcons held sway for the majority of the final term, the girls’ intensity in the final few minutes enabled them to create the opportunities to come away with an exciting win.

The match was also captain Danielle Teasdale’s 238th and final match for Western Bulldogs/VU Western Spurs, with the result a fitting farewell to a club stalwart and esteemed figure within Victorian women’s football.

In their first year in the state league competition, the Western Bulldogs will finish the year on seven wins and seven losses, sixth placed on the ladder, and just outside the top-four that will advance to play finals.
