Despite finishing strongly to bring the margin back within single figures, a slow start came back to haunt the Bulldogs in last year’s Pride Game. Injuries to Ange Gogos (knee) and Deanna Berry (concussion) didn’t make things easier, leaving just three on the bench for majority of the match. Captain Ellie Blackburn was judged best afield for her side, with 20 disposals and four tackles, while Izzy Huntington (15 disposals, seven marks) was strong in defence. Third-gamer Gabby Newton also found her feet with 14 disposals and four tackles.
