Western Bulldogs AFLW captain Ellie Blackburn has been ranked the 10th best AFLW player of season 2020, according to AFL Media reporter and AFLW expert Sarah Black.
Over four seasons and 28 games, Blackburn has established herself as one of the competition’s most prolific midfielders.
She averaged 17.3 disposals, 4.2 tackles, 4.7 marks and 325.4 metres gained from her six matches in 2020.
Blackburn was runner-up in the Bulldogs best-and-fairest for the third consecutive year, finished equal-11th in the AFLW count, and made the All Australian squad.
The recognition tops off a big week for the 25-year-old, following an impactful two-goal performance in the weekend’s practice match win and announcement she’d be continuing on as standalone skipper for the 2021 season.
Fellow Bulldog and All Australian defender Izzy Huntington came in at number 21 out of 30 on Black’s top 30 countdown.
The top 30 is based on form shown in the 2020 season, with all players required to have played at least three games.
The rest of the top 10 will be revealed on womens.afl throughout the week.
