The Western Bulldogs slogan ‘Be More Bulldog’ calls on players, staff, members and supporters to be stronger, bolder, prouder and more loyal in their commitment to the club.

In a 199-game career, perhaps no one has better exemplified those traits than Bulldogs veteran Dale Morris.

Morris will run out for his 200th AFL game on Saturday against Geelong and the praise for the defender during the week has been unwavering.

Bulldogs senior coach Luke Beveridge willed his playing group to put on a good show for Morris’ milestone on Saturday.

“He’s one of those players in the game that everyone admires, even people from other football clubs.

“When you think about someone like Lenny Hayes who everyone loves and adores, and opposition fans included, I think Dale has got that stigma about him.

“He’s been such a great team man and club man, I’m sure his teammates will do the best for him on Saturday.”

After overcoming several serious injury setbacks in his 200-game career, including a broken jaw in recent weeks, Morris has been an inspiration to his younger teammates on the work required to reach the elite level.

His determination, attitude and behaviours continue to motivate those around him, with Bulldogs midfielder Mitch Wallis heaping praise on Morris.

“He’s got a wonderful story, where he came from and obviously his big injuries in the past,” Morris said speaking with RSN Radio on Wednesday.

“I can’t believe he broke his jaw and he’s still playing footy.

“He’s a Bulldog through and through and I can’t be happier for him and his family… and he’s a true servant of the Club, so the Club will get behind him and hopefully we can get a win for the great man.”
