The Western Bulldogs unveiled the new playing Guernsey for 2012 and beyond to over 870 Bulldog faithful at the Charles Sutton Medal tonight.

The new Guernsey celebrates the proud colours of the Western Bulldogs - the Red, White and Blue.

Following a flood of positive feedback about the Guernsey worn by the Bulldogs during our Round 13 win against the Adelaide Crows, the Club provided our dedicated Members and Fans with the opportunity to vote for their favourite Guernsey from a selection of four jumpers including our current strip in July.

Of the 4,000 plus Members and Fans who participated in this online vote, the overwhelming majority of respondents not only identified the traditional Guernsey as their favourite - they also voted for  it to become our permanent Guernsey going forward.

Western Bulldogs Chief Executive, Simon Garlick said tonight that the fans had voted, and the Club had listened.

“We see the new Guernsey as the birth of a new tradition - that reflects our connection to our community and commitment to build the Western Front,” Garlick said.

“This is as much a nod to our proud heritage as it is a celebration of the Bulldog’s bright future as we head into a new and exciting chapter of our football Club”.

The next generation of Bulldogs players Liam Jones, Tom Liberatore, Mitch Wallis and Luke Dahlhaus revealed the new Guernsey to a cheering crowd at Peninsula, Docklands.

The Bulldogs would like to thank members and supporters who took the time to provide their views and feedback to the Club.
