The Western Bulldogs’ 30-player AFLW squad has been finalised for the 2021 season, following this week’s National Draft.
On Tuesday night the Bulldogs drafted highly-regarded midfielder Jess Fitzgerald with their second pick, athletic defender Sarah Hartwig with pick 11, and Western Jets utility Isabelle Pritchard with selection 16.
The Dogs’ successful draft haul, and the inclusion of Katie Lynch from Collingwood during the Sign and Trade Period, means the Club will head into next season with a playing list full of young and emerging talent.
The Bulldogs also scored an off-field coup recently by adding the well-credentialed Natalie Wood as an assistant coach.
Victorian-based AFLW squads were given an exemption from the Victorian Government to return to training from this week, on a volunteer basis.
The pre-season for 2021 officially begins in early November.
